Multiplying and dividing whole numbers is like simple ABC's! All that you are doing is multiplying numbers and dividing numbers but you need to know exactly how to do that. So lets first do multiplying whole numbers and lets take the example 72 x 4. So now we have to write this in multiplication form like this:

 72

x 4

Next you will have to first multiply the two numbers 4 x 2 because we always start by multiplying the bottom right numbers and go to the left and we know that 4 x 2=8. So now our problem will look like this:

 72 

x 4

   8

Next you have to multiply the next two numbers 4 x 70 and we know that 4 x 70=280 so now our problem will look like this:

 72

x 4

288

So our final answer is 288.
