Techniques for Simplifying Fractions

Preview

When working with fractions you will get fraction answer and sometimes you will be told to simplify the fractions and now I am going to tell you how to simplify which is pretty simple.
So for example if you get a fraction 5/15 the first thing you will do is try and divide the numerator with a number and check if the number goes into 5 evenly. The numerator is 5 and I know that 5 goes into 5 evenly. Now you have to see if the same number can go into the denominator and if it can you get your simplified fraction and if it does't then simply try another number!
So now I have a fraction of 1/3. If I were to have an improper fraction then the first thing I will do is make the improper fraction into a mixed number then simplify the fraction in that mixed number using the same formula. Now try some of  these and make sure to watch the video on YouTube.
