We all know how to divide whole numbers and its the same easy way to divide whole numbers by unit fractions. Remember that unit fractions are just fractions with the numerator of 1.
To do this we will have to write the problem out 6 / 1/4 then we have to add a 1 under the whole number since it has no denominator.
So our new problem will be 6/1 / 1/4 (this may look confusing since I cannot use division signs with typing)
Next we will have to turn the second fraction upside down, which is called reciprocals. 1/4 becomes 4/1.
We are now left with 6/1 x 4/1=24/1 or simply 24.
That means the quotient of 6/ 1/4=24!
Now try some of these and make sure to watch the video on YouTube.
