How many pounds is this?
The first step is to look at the chart: we know that one pound = 16 ounces. So, if we divide 48 ounces by 16 ounces: 48/16 = 3 pounds. That means that the book weighs 3 pounds, or 3 lbs. That's one heavy book, all right!
