How to Change Units of Length

What are the Units of Length?

Converting Units of Length

Let's say that the distance between your house and your friend's house is 2 miles.
 How many inches is this?

The first thing you will do is look at the chart: we know that one mile=5,280 feet. One foot = 12 inches so if we multiply 5280x12=63,360. That means that one mile=63,360 inches. Since it is 2 miles, we'll simply multiply 63,360x2=126,720 inches.
That means that the distance, in inches, between your and your friend's house is 126,720 inches. That sure is a long way to go!
